Michael MarderTchernobyl Herbarium, Fragment d'une conscience en éclat

16.00 EUROS

“The challenge of this book is to extend the awareness of the Chernobyl disaster. It insists on the need to think, to signify, to symbolise, however unrepresentable, the consciousness that this event has fragmented. In order to open the way to a way of life more in tune with the environment. It is the challenge of trying to think the unthinkable, to represent the unrepresentable. But instead of dispassionate analysis, it proposes meditations on personal experiences.
Instead of photographs or paintings, rayograms, created by the direct imprint of specimens from a radioactive herbarium. As always with Marder, the plants are our guides, reconnecting us to the (hopelessly contaminated) earth, illuminating the meaning of the ruins.”
