Maison Sonia Delaunay, The Fabric Of Modernity

The exhibition “Maison Sonia: Sonia Delaunay and the Atelier Simultané” is dedicated to the applied work of the French-Russian artist Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979), with a particular focus on her textile design work. The accompanying catalogue includes the first scholarly essays on Sonia Delaunay’s collaborations with the silk industrialist Robert Perrier and the couturier Jacques Heim, who were among her most important collaborators and who had not yet been explored. In addition, the publication offers the first insight into the role of Sonia Delaunay’s simultaneous fabrics in the design of modern living spaces and media.
