Atlas de poche des fleurs de jardins les plus faciles à cultiver
A beautiful facsimile reproduction, vintage and charming with its old-fashioned look and its many delicately illustrated flowers
This 1912 work, here reprinted in facsimile, invites us to admire 128 plates coloured at the time in chromolithography, a printing process that required no less than five passes on the presses and which has now disappeared. They represent 137 common plants and are accompanied by 190 pages of explanatory text, including a scientific classification and practical advice, written by a specialist of his time, Paul Hariot. Each plate indicates whether the plant is an annual, biennial or perennial, its flowering period, etc. This scientific classification is followed by basic gardening notions ranging from the importance of exposing the garden to the preparation of the soil, including watering advice, and concludes with a very useful flowering calendar. This beautiful introductory book will delight plant lovers and budding gardeners alike.
