Atlas de poche des papillons de France, Suisse et Belgique les plus répandus
A beautiful facsimile reproduction, vintage and charmingly old-fashioned, with many superbly illustrated colourful butterflies
This 1912 work, here reprinted in facsimile, invites us to admire 72 plates coloured at the time in chromolithography, a printing process that required no less than five passes on the presses and which has now disappeared. They represent 285 butterflies and are accompanied by 180 pages of text written by a specialist of his time, Dr Paul Girod. From the description of caterpillars and chrysalises and the general study of butterflies to practical advice on hunting and collecting butterflies, enthusiasts and the curious alike will be enchanted by this rare and attractive volume.
