Spanish photographer Mikel Bastida (b. 1982) makes staged photographs inspired by film and history. In this latest book of photographs, he constructs a new vision of the United States through cinematic references such as the ghost town of Archer County, Texas, from Bogdanovich’s film adaptation of McMurtry’s The Last Picture Show.
