In this book, Sophie Calle focuses on matrimonial ads published between 1895 and 2019, gathered from various media such as Le Chasseur Français and Le Nouvel Observateur, as well as websites and applications like Meetic and Tinder. Selected and classified by decades, these ads highlight the main qualities that both sexes were looking for over the years. Despite being entirely subjective, Sophie Calle attempts here to establish a sociological panorama of the evolution of male-female relationships through the ages, using her poetry and humor.
