Baukunst
Adrien Verschuere founded Baukunst in Brussels in 2008, after working at both Herzog De Meuron and OMA. The first two projects the office built were promptly nominated for the renowned EU Mies Award. In 2018, Baukunst, in collaboration with the French office Bruther, won the bid for the Maison des Médias in Brussels. Without differentiating between realised buildings and planned projects, Verschuere shows his design and working methods rather than their results. Instead of presenting individual projects, he has divided the book into three chapters: site plan; photos and rendering; design plans and drawings. The result is astonishing. In this book, Baukunst plays with the reader’s perception of what is real and what is not, of what is possible and what, perhaps, is not.
