This book, produced by a multidisciplinary team (including historian Chloé Deligne and sociologist Benedikte Zitouni), offers an atypical portrait of Brussels. From field observations related to the phenomenon of urban agriculture, the authors launch a series of very in-depth surveys that bring up historical facts, surprising traditions and alliances. As a whole, the book shows in a very effective way the complex tangle of attachments around lands that one would too quickly tend to treat as wastelands.
