Artifices instables, Histoires de céramiques
This book is the catalog of the exhibition Artifices instables, Histoires de céramiques, presented from September 2020 to February 2021 at the New National Museum of Monaco. This same city saw the birth of its first Ceramic Art Workshop in the second half of the 19th century. Artists such as Albert Diato, Eugène Baudin, the Fischers will become leading figures in the history of ceramics in the Principality. This book presents their creations and puts them in resonance with other artists such as Simone Fattal, Georges Ohr, Aaron Angell, Pablo Picasso and many others, thus bringing to light these ceramic artists, who belonged to very different eras, in their desire to bring about a change of perspective. With more than two hundred pieces, spread over more than a century of creation, this book pays homage to this malleable medium and studies it as a heterogeneous material capable of telling multiple stories.
