Hans Theys’ selection for his storefront.

“It is almost impossible to explain to people that artists are not concerned with ideas, but with forms. These forms result from their practice, but also from their way of seeing things, what Zola called their ‘temperament’, Cézanne their ‘optics’ or ‘sensation’, Rodin ‘nature’, Henry Moore ‘form vision’. Giacometti is one of those artists who try to explain it. It is fascinating.

I often talk about Alberto Giacometti, for example in this text on the occasion of an exhibition at the National Gallery in London in 2015.” Hans Theys
