“100 Churches of Venice and the Lagoon” is a photographic project developed by photographer Alejandro Merizalde between 2014 and 2019 about the churches and, more generally, the places of worship that dot the city of Venice, its islands and surroundings: Burano, Murano, Torcello, Pellestrina, Chioggia, Lio Piccolo, Mesole…. All the buildings, both those still in use and those that have been transformed, have been represented in such a way as to highlight their architectural characteristics and from a perspective that helps to create a harmonious and balanced aesthetic thread. The book is enriched with a text by Marina Gasparini Lagrange, a deep connoisseur of the city of Venice, its history and culture.
