As of June 2025, we no longer sell online
As of June 2025, we will be ceasing online sales and refocusing on the in-store experience. This decision will enable us to better accompany you in your literary and artistic discoveries within our physical space. We invite you to come and discover our selections directly in the gallery, where you can chat with our team and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Peinture Fraîche.

Carta Canta presents a selection of Alechinsky’s works on paper from the 270 or so works that have been donated to the collections of the Royal Museums, as well as new exceptional donations, honouring this leading figure of the CoBrA movement. More than 200 drawings, watercolours, etchings, lithographs and paintings invite you to dream and travel to the infinite of the imagination.
The exhibition shows how the imaginary exploration carried by a keen sense of technical experimentation laid the foundations of a practice that makes the act of drawing – and therefore drawing – the heart of a rich and multifaceted creation, while offering a cross-sectional view that makes it possible to establish links between the artist and the collection of the MRBAB, from Ensor to Magritte.
Even today, Pierre Alechinsky, pioneer of the avant-garde group CoBrA and winner of the Praemium Imperiale (2018), continues, at the height of his 93 years, to make not only the paper, but the entire Museum, “sing”.”
