“And then everything started to spin in all directions. So begins this trilingual tale, written and drawn by the artist Guillaume Dégé. It is the story of a creature who wonders how to live in a world turned upside down. She observes her surroundings and takes the example of other animals: realizing that their fate depends on their ability to adapt, she ends up becoming one with a shell. “Et alors…” is a book to be read, between parents and children, and a book to be looked at. Guillaume Dégé deploys his delicate talent to merge old engravings, gouache and pencil. Each page is a graphic event, which surprises the eye, distills clues and creates new images. In turn, we embark on the artist’s crazy imaginary trail. A small initiatory tale in the air of time (or in the time of air!), which thwarts the uncertainties of the time with a poetic pirouette.
