Camille GharbiFaire Face: Histoires de violences conjugales

This book is based on three series of photographs I have made over the past three years: “Preuves d’Amour”, which deals with feminicide, “Les Monstres n’existe pas”, which focuses on the perpetrators of domestic violence, and “Une chambre à soi”, developed with victims. Each of these series evokes in its own way the reality of this violence, its intensity, its banality. They are based on the same conviction: domestic violence is a terrible reality, but things can change if we take the trouble to look this reality in the face.

Through these individual and singular stories, told in images and words, it is society as a whole that must “face up”, to deconstruct systems of thought, encourage the search for constructive solutions, and do things differently.
