At the age of seventy, the Austrian artist Elisabeth Wild embarked on a prolific production of vibrant and kaleidoscopic collages. Colourful and shimmering compositions showing a dimensionless reality made from commercial images taken from magazines and gathered in this monograph. Having lived successively in Vienna, Buenos Aires and Basel before ending her life in Panajachel, Guatemala, Elisabeth Wild’s work is impregnated with her stays on the American continent. “Wooden totems and stone altars, woven carpets and precious stones are the cosmic architectural inhabitants that reveal the artist’s fantasies.”
