Flanders Architectural Review N°13: "This is a mustard factory"
The 13th edition of the Flemish architectural magazine brings together the most outstanding examples of recent architecture in Flanders. The selected buildings raise questions about the importance of form in architecture. The book contains 11 illustrated articles, 4 photo essays and 46 architectural projects, documented with plans and images.
This publication by the Flemish Architecture Institute presents a generous selection of recently completed projects in words and pictures. About fifty projects are documented with detailed plans and photos and provide a critical reflection on the current development of Flemish architecture. The book includes articles on topics such as the poetry of utility buildings, architecture’s responsibility for the landscape, the exploration of a new scale and the individual character of Flemish architecture abroad. The visual essays by four leading photographers share a serious interest in concrete physical experience. They see the architectural object not as something static, but as an inviting space to be explored, studied, tried and tested.
