Hypnose, art et hypnotisme de Mesmer à nos jours

Catalogue published on the occasion of the exhibition organized at the Musée d’art de Nantes (October 2020-January 2021). This exhibition, which crosses several disciplinary fields (art history and humanities), is conceived as a history of the influence of theories and techniques of hypnosis on artistic creation. The analysis is based on the invention of Mesmer (years 1780-1800) and ends with the years 1970-2020. Contemporary artist Tony Oursler has produced a series of bold pencil drawings for this catalogue.
