Christophe TarkosLe kilo : et autres inédits

This volume of poems, texts and drawings, entirely unpublished, is an event. It is the result of research carried out over the last few years in the Tarkos archives of the IMEC, in private collections and those of the Frac Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur. Some of the books discovered are real books: Le Kilo, La Terre, Fermeture, which had never been published. In addition, there are numerous poems and performance texts, still unpublished, and finally a selection of letters and working notes in which Tarkos tells his addressees about his writing projects, or addresses, for example, an extraordinary “application for employment as a poet” to various institutions and companies! For Tarkos, poems, writing, words and drawings were all part of the same artistic project. This edition reproduces more than 50 drawings and drawing-poems, also unpublished. All the published texts and documents are precisely referenced and dated.

This edition, produced with the support of the cipM, appears at the same time as an important exhibition, “Tarkos Poète”, will be held in Marseille at the Frac and the cipM, from 19 February to 15 May 2022. Drawings, documents, letters, performances will be presented for the first time with such a retrospective scope.
