Hans TheysMax Pinckers

Max Pinckers (1988) is a Belgian artist/photographer. In his work he explores the critical, technological and ideological structures underlying the creation and consumption of documentary images. This trilingual book marks the culmination of a ten-year collaboration between the photographer and the writer Hans Theys, who has been allowed to use a personal selection of all Pinckers’ photographs to bring this volume to life, including an essay by Theys analysing the artist’s work based on the reflections of Susan Sontag. Published on the occasion of the first Max Pinckers retrospective at the Antwerp Museum of Photography.
