Here Modigliani’s famous nudes, haunting portraits, and seldom-exhibited sculptures are juxtaposed with works by Pablo Picasso, Constantin Brâncusi, and André Derain as well as artifacts from so-called primitive—i.e. non-European—cultures. The catalog features 160 images of Modigliani’s paintings from museums and private collections across the world.
