“They are everywhere. They can be found in almost every street of Japan, visibly standing on the sidewalk or hung on a wall. They take various and sometimes unexpected forms. They are as numerous as vending machines — no small task. They are meant to draw attention. And yet, they remain mostly unnoticed. This is the tragic fate of Japanese noticeboards, locally called keijiban (掲示板).”
