Musée des Beaux-Arts de LyonPar le feu, la couleur : Céramiques contemporaines

“For the first time, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon is devoting an exhibition to contemporary ceramics. From the sculptural works of the La Borne workshops of the 1960s to the most recent organic pieces, the exhibition will offer an evocative panorama of creation in this field, from the second half of the 20th century to the present day.
Works of generous proportions by Jean and Jacqueline Lerat will be displayed alongside ceramics by Joulia, Pontoreau, Virot, Dejonghe and Champy. These are all pioneering artists who have mastered the constraints of fire to invent unexpected shapes and surface effects and thus create new volumes in space. The surprise will come from the confrontation with recent creations, brimming with creativity and colour.
On this occasion, the museum will reveal ceramics that have recently entered the collections, following several donations.”
