Pierre Culot (1938-2011) was a Belgian ceramist and sculptor. Trained by Antoine de Vinck and the English master potter Bernard Leach, he built a bridge between British, Japanese and French traditions, and passionately expressed his desire to be in the world, to be on earth, in nature, the only generator of life and beauty.

Throughout his life, he remained faithful to his initial experience as a potter, developing his ceramic works from basic forms (bowls, plates, jugs) to more daring ones (cruciform vases, gourds, compound pots, inkwells). His imagination has gone beyond the functional, and he has created sculptures and has not hesitated to make a lasting mark on the landscape with his sculptural walls.
