Angel Albarrán & Anna CabreraRemembering the future

For years, Angel Albarrán and Anna Cabrera were the favourite printers of museums and world-famous photographers such as Masao Yamamoto. Recently, they have diversified as artists themselves, experimenting with new and traditional printing techniques and exhibiting all over the world.

Both born in 1969 and living in Barcelona, Anna Cabrera and Angel Albarrán have been working together for more than twenty years and form a duo on the rise on the photographic scene. Together they develop a photographic, poetic and sensitive universe where the emotion of the subject meets the beauty of the print. Questioning the identity and the traces that the camera keeps from the past, their different series evoke our relationship to time, memory and our perception of the photographic image between reality and illusion. On the basis of this discourse, we find a series of superbly executed scenes, as if they had been made by a craftsman of yesteryear. After a while, instead of real scenes, they appear to us like reveries in the fog that is about to fade away.
