A woman lives a wandering, unadorned existence in the woods, with an old truck as her only home, which she moves around as she pleases. The only things that matter to her are the passage of time and the echoes of life. Happy with her material deprivation, she indulges her senses and thoughts in the forest. Marc Graciano likes to explain that he sees himself as a director rather than a writer, that he is above all a postman, a simple and teasing way of saying that he writes his texts like a craftsman creates musical instruments. And if his work remains novelistic, he has never hidden his desire to create a magical writing, capable of simply and meticulously reviving the texture of the world. Living himself for a large part of the year in a truck that he moves around in the wilderness, Marc Graciano offers us with Shamane the figure of an alter ego, a woman who abandons herself with equal enjoyment to martial arts and wine, to shamanic experiences and to life in the woods.
