There are two ways of looking at the world.
The Promethean way of making Nature speak in the service of men by forcing it through experimentation to reveal its secrets.
It is about the domination of Nature by man.
The other attitude is disinterested, it observes Nature while respecting it. This attitude is philosophical, aesthetic or poetic and respects the limits imposed by Nature. Because if this one wants to hide, isn’t it because the discovery of its secrets is a danger for man?
By technically intervening in natural processes, don’t humans risk disturbing them?

Comment se forme en nous l’image du monde? Les images, très abondantes, qui nous en sont offertes, concordent-elles avec celles qui sont le fruit de notre expérience directe? C’est en partant de cette interrogation qu’il est venu à Pierre-Philippe Hofmann l’idée de déterminer un ensemble de protocoles qui auraient pour objectif de synthétiser toute la diversité paysagère d’un territoire.

After a first work devoted to Jean-François Pirson and his educational work focused on space, the Architecture Unit of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation is continuing this collaboration by devoting the 3rd volume of its “Fenêtre sur” collection to the marches and workshops that ‘he has been leading since 2010. This work extends the intentions developed in the first volume Pedagogies of space: opening up fields; stimulate plastic, kinesthetic, fun and human experiences accessible to all; share them.

Artist-teacher, honorary professor at the Lambert Lombard Higher Institute of Architecture (now ULiège Faculty of Architecture), Jean-François Pirson expresses his relationship to space in various plastic and educational practices: drawing, photography, installation, text, walk and workshop.
