Lisa Blumen Astra Nova
We are pleased to invite you on Thursday, March 9, 2023 to the launch of Astra Nova, the new graphic novel by Lisa Blumen published by L’employé du moi, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the bookstore at 39 rue Lesbroussart.
Recently graduated from the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, Lisa Blumen has already published several books for young readers, published by Kilowatt and Rouergue. With Avant l’oubli, she signed her first graphic novel for adults, which was awarded the ADAP Revelation Prize at the Quai des bulles Festival.
She will dedicate Astra Nova, her second graphic novel, published by L’employé du moi. With Astra Nova, Lisa Blumen comes back with a new science fiction story.
After a long training, Nova is about to board for a scientific mission with no way back. Confined in a high-tech rocket, the young astronaut will have to reach the planet L31 and leave for a journey that will take her between 20 and 50 years. Before the big departure, she must comply with a final formality required by the space agency that hired her. She must go to the farewell party that is organized in her honor in a sumptuous villa. She who has always preferred a reclusive life will have to face her only three friends and her own loneliness. Drawn entirely with felt-tip pens, Astra Nova is a magnificent album full of nostalgia where the future world is once again a way to materialize marginal existences.
